hi I’m a therapist
some people come to me to break down severe childhood trauma
some people come to me because their job is super stressful
some people come to me because they’re worried all the time about stuff that they know they shouldn’t be worried about but they worry anyway
some people come to me because they’re bad at focusing
some people come to me because their mom said they should but they’re enjoying the experience anyway
what i’m saying is there is no wrong time, reason, or explanation to come see a therapist. we’re ready for you.

as the political discourse is gonna get undoubtedly worse on this website and other social media, I’ll give you some suggestions

  • Vote, of course, but only if you want to. Voting’s important, but don’t feel obligated to. Don’t let anyone guilt trip you.
  • Unfollow anyone that posting political crap that makes you feel angry or negatively impacts your mental state. Just unfollow them. Just do it right now. You come first. Politicians are temporary, but your mental state comes first.
  • Turn off the news.
  • Stop listening to hyperbolic and hysterical pundits, it’s to their benefit to get you scared
  • Take care of yourself and do something to enrich yourself
  • Get a new hobby
  • Go outside, go hiking or just take a walk through your town center
  • Catch up with friends
  • Go drink some white girl pumpkin spice coffee or whatever (I won’t tell if you don’t…)
  • Work out or get active
  • Join an actual advocacy organization or charity rather than just sitting around all day worrying about the state of the world
